Description
A Chinese wild boar tusk that is engraved and painted with a landscape that depicts pine trees, a pogoda in some rolling hills and several boats. The scene is a classic “shan shui” (mountain-water) motif common in Chinese decorative art. One end features a dragon scale pattern and possibly clouds or pine trees, rendered with fine incised lines and colored washes. This piece was created in the mid 20th century. The artist’s name and chop are displayed on the tip. The piece is displayed on a Rosewood base and the entire piece measures 1.5 inches x 4 inches x 8.75 inches.
