Cornelis (Kees) Boendermaker (Amsterdam , 27 May 1904 - Bergen ( North Holland ), 4 July 1979 ) was a Dutch painter , draftsman and watercolourist.He trained at the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten in Amsterdam and the School voor Kunstnijverheid in Haarlem. He was a pupil of Arnout Colnot. At his parental home ' his father was the well-known art collector Piet Boendermaker ' he became acquainted with the painters of the Bergen School and soon had the opportunity to develop his talent.After leaving secondary school, Kees Boendermaker wanted to further develop his painting talent. He initially attended the School of Applied Arts in Haarlem. Unfortunately, illness forced him to leave this institution. Under the guidance of Leo Gestel, who had a great influence on him, he worked for several months in the Beemster region after his illness. Boendermaker worked in Amsterdam from 1923 onwards, making trips to Paris, Budapest, Prague, and Brittany. He settled in Bergen, North Holland, in 1947.His subjects include flower still lifes, figure paintings, landscapes, portraits, and still lifes. He worked in the style of the Bergen School and was a member of Arti et Amicitiae in Amsterdam and the KunstenaarsCentrumBergen (KCB).
