Pair of Stunning Fischer & Mieg Gilt Cobalt Blue Porcelain 24" tall Urns. The Fischer & Mieg porcelain company was located in Pirkenhammer, near Bohemia, which was part of the Austrian Empire and later Czechoslovakia. Founded in 1803, the factory operated under the name Fischer & Mieg starting in 1852 and was renowned for high-quality porcelain production. These show stopping Art Nouveau cobalt and gilt gold are decorated with relief flowers with branches & leaves on the front and the back each one with a different hand painted design with moths (butterflies) design. Each of the gilded handles of the urn are shaped as twisted snakes with leaves on the top. The top is in the shape of a crown with each having a matching lid with a pineapple at the top. The urn is attached to a octagon base. (could be tightened, the screws are a bit rusted). Each urn/vase is in amazing condition with no chips, nicks or signs of repair. The only note would be some rubbing of the gilt gold. On the bottom of each of the urns is the crossed pickaxe marking. They each measure H 24" with lid (20.5" without) x 9.5" wide and the combined weight is 17 lbs. Please refer to all photos. Overall in very good condition.
