
Abraham Manievich (also known as Abram Manevich; Russian–American, 1881–1942). An oil on board painting titled Outskirts, signed in the lower right. The work is matted and framed. Provenance: Estate of Eric Jansson, Roswell, Georgia. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Alan Pensler, dated 2018. Abraham A. Manievich was a noted Post-Impressionist landscape painter whose subjects included Ukrainian and Lithuanian villages, rural countryside scenes, and urban views of Moscow, Kiev, and Petrograd. He worked in a bold Fauvist style and exhibited alongside leading French Fauvist artists. Manievich received critical acclaim following his first solo exhibition at the renowned Durand-Ruel Gallery in Paris in 1913. His works are held in the National Art Museum of Ukraine and in major museum and private collections throughout the United States, Canada, France, Israel, Russia, and Ukraine.
