Excerpted from the album (translated from French), This volume, the sixth of the "Plastique" collection published under the direction of George Besson, was printed on velin Vidalon paper by Braun & Cie, Mulhouse-Dornach, Paris, Lyon. Choice of sixteen drawings by Marcel Gromaire, nudes and landscapes, executed from nature. MARCEL GROMAIRE (1892-1971) was a French painter. He painted many works on social subjects and is often associated with Social Realism, but Gromaire can be said to have created an independent oeuvre distinct from groups and movements. He was in the milieu of Picasso, Chagall, Miro, and Matisse.
