Set of 2 French Sevres Style Bronze Porcelain Vases Signed Poitevin 19th Century
This is a matched pair of large French Sevres style vases from the late 19th century, crafted in the Louis XV/XVI style. Each vase features bronze mounts and exquisite hand-painted porcelain cartouches signed by Eugene Poitevin (1806-1870). One vase portrays two gentlemen on horseback outside an inn, with its reverse showing a countryside roadside inn. The other depicts lovers selecting flowers from a maiden, with a chateau beside a lake on the reverse. Both vases bear spurious Sevres underglaze marks and inscriptions referencing historical French nobility. The set also includes a label from Fratelli Lovvy of Genoa, a renowned luxury goods retailer. The condition is described as good.
