Description

Manufactured by Union Switch & Signal in Swissdale, PA with 5 " barrel blue finish Keyes checkered plastic grips and without final inspections. Contracted for 55,000 pistols and produced in 1943, the Union Switch & Signal is second only to the Singer Model 1911-A1 in rarity. Short stamped trigger with sharp narrow checkered hammer and checkered safety and slide stop. Arched mainspring housing. Slide is marked with the traditional US&S markings on left side with HS marked Barrel. No RCD inspection on frame and no finial "P" proof above magazine release. "US&S Marking and Serial number" are hand stamped as was common on toolroom or developmental guns. CONDITION: Very good as refinished with all marking remaining. Mechanically excellent and has a small area of corrosion on left side of slide. Magazine is absent.
