California Coastline Oil on Canvas Signed by Artist Joseph Frey. Joseph P. Frey (1892-1977). Joseph Frey was born in Walla Walla, WA. Frey began his art studies at the AIC at age 16. He opened his first studio in 1915 in San Francisco. After serving in WWI, Joseph sailed out of SF & spent many years at sea working as a chef and studying painting. By the late 1920's he settled in Southern California where he lived and worked in Los Angeles, Palm Springs, and Santa Barbara. Joseph Frey is best known for his landscape paintings of the Southern California Mountains & Deserts. This painting shows the California Mountainous Coastline with gorgeous blue waters of the Pacific and a small red boat. No damage to the art, it is framed in a vintage carved wood. The work is signed on the bottom left of the art. It measures framed H 20.5" x W 24" and weighs approximately 6 lbs. Please refer to all photos. Overall in very good condition.
