Qing Dynasty, Ca. AD 1644 - 1912. >A substantial bronze censer of compressed globular form, rising from a short foot to a gently flared rim, set with a pair of loop handles at the shoulder. The surface is in rich deep brown tones and attractively embellished with irregular gold splashes (jin sa), creating a striking contrast across the body.The censer is accompanied by a fitted circular stand, similarly cast in bronze and echoing the form of the vessel, with a slightly stepped profile and a subtly shaped apron.
