Description
In 1975, within the framework of an international cooperation program for the exploration and utilization of outer space, the Soviet Union initiated the “Vertikal” program, based on a single-stage research rocket intended for scientific experiments, Earth observation and special reconnaissance tasks. For this program, the Arsenal Factory developed the medium-format SLR camera FKR-01. The camera operates fully mechanically, including film transport and shutter release, and is equipped with a built in electric motor for film advance and shutter cocking. It could additionally be fitted with remote triggering and a device for data imprinting directly onto the film. The offered camera is in good mechanical working order, as far as tested. It is supplied with two interchangeable lenses: Mir-3 3.5/65 mm no. 54362253 and Kaleinar-3R 2.8/150 mm no. 54362261.The serial numbers beginning with “54” on both the camera and lenses do not indicate the year 1954, as might be assumed from common Soviet numbering practice, but refer to an internal project designation. The FKR-01 forms part of a Soviet space program, details of which remain only partially documented. SN: 54362254
