Nice white 11" x 8.5" photocopied letter on McCartney Productions Ltd., 1 Soho Square, London letterhead, dated September 25, 1991, hand-signed in black ballpoint pen by Paul McCartney, who also added a facial doodle beneath his signature. While the letterhead itself is a photocopy, the signature and doodle are original and hand-drawn by McCartney. The letter was sent in relation to the work Liverpool Oratorio, written by McCartney in collaboration with Carl Davis and performed by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, premiering at Liverpool Cathedral in Liverpool, England on June 29, 1991. The letter reads: “Dear Michael, I watched the TV programme on you the other night and seeing that you had written an Oratorio, thought you might like to listen to the enclosed which I wrote with Carl Davis for the Liverpool Philharmonic Society’s 50th Birthday this year. It was a great thrill for me to write this piece and I feel there might be one or two moments in it that you would enjoy. Warm regards, Paul McCartney.” In fine condition. Accompanied by a Tracks COA. A desirable early-1990s McCartney handwritten signed piece tied directly to his ambitious transition into large-scale classical composition outside of his work with The Beatles.
