"Tejiendo Simbolos" by Alejandra Cigarroa. Mixed media, oil, scraps of cloth and gold gitl on paper. Paint was applied with a pallette knife over approximately ten scraps of cloth, each cut or torn into different sizes. Each cloth is of a unique texture and weave. They are arranged to form a single large rectangular form. Three Greek Christian crosses in brown, orange and blue hues appear from the viewer's left to right within the image. The work conveys a deep spiritual quality represented in Cigarroa's work.
