Title: Rare and Hard to Find Portieux Vallerysthal French Glass Rider on Elephant Candy Trinket Dish

Description: Intricately detailed, clear glass, elephant candy trinket dish in excellent condition.
Circa 1870 or even earlier as it is signed "Vallerysthal".
The lid depicts a mahout riding his elephant.
The elephant's body serves as the dish and container. Marked Vallerysthal on inside of elephants body.
It measures 7" x 6.5"L. Weighs 1.5 lbs
Vallerystahl began their glass production in 1836 in France. In 1870 they purchased Portieux and formed Portieux Vallerystahl.
This base may be even earlier than 1870.
