Description: This scroll, "Anatomy of the Brain and Spinal Cord" is a detailed educational chart illustrating major sensory and motor pathways within the central nervous system, specifically focusing on the brainstem and cerebrum.
These types of charts were commonly used in medical and biology education and are rare and hard to find.
This appears to have once belonged to George B. Allen, M.D., Ph.D. (1942-2019), an alumnus of Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and who served as the William F. Meacham Professor and Chair of Neurological Surgery. Notations on the piece indicate it to have been proofread and approved by Dr Allen, presumably for teaching purposes.
