Description

Nigeria, . Carved wood mask of a leopard with rounded prominent forehead, feline ears, long ovate eyes above open eyeholes, rounded mouth with interlocking fangs, grooved whiskers, and the surface painted with indigo blue spots encircled in black against white ground. The leopard represented attributes of the “oba”, the king/leader.12”H (30.5cm).
