Color Print on paper, 30 x 40 in rolled. 2015. Piero Mottola is an Italian artist, experimental musician, and researcher born in Caserta in 1967. His work focuses on the relationship between sound, noise, emotion, perception, and visual form.
Mottola’s career has been marked by participation in numerous major international exhibitions and cultural events. His work has been presented at the 54th Venice Biennale, the 11th and 15th Havana Biennials, the China–Italy Biennial in Beijing and Turin, Art Basel, BienalSur in Buenos Aires, and exhibitions and projects in institutions across Europe, Latin America, and Asia. Solo and featured presentations have also been held at venues such as the MACRO Museum in Rome, MAMBA Museum of Modern Art in Buenos Aires, the Hermann Nitsch Museum in Naples, the International Red Cross Museum in Geneva, and the Bauhaus Museum in Germany.
Notable holdings include the permanent collection of the MACRO Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome, where his work Sequenza cromatica E.37 vicino lontano entered the collection, as well as installations and projects exhibited by institutions such as the MAMBA Museum of Modern Art and university museums in Rome.
