The second reproduces a letter from Edward Augustus Inglefield to The Times, announcing that Lady Franklin had provided a vessel “supplied… with provisions for five years” to search for her husband. A third nine-page article reviews the numerous expeditions already dispatched to the Arctic and considers whether Franklin’s crews might still survive, examining the possibility that their provisions could have sustained them for as long as seven years. by The Nautical Magazine.
