BIOGRAPHY:
George Seton Coggeshall- Artist. Born: Elgin, Illinois 1914. Died: River Forest, Illinois 1994. George Coggeshall was a commercial artist in the Chicago area for over 35 years, illustrating and designing highly realistic renderings of people, food, and products to be reproduced for printed point of purchase displays, publications, and large decals for store windows and doors. Coggeshall's subjects, media choices and artistic interests varied greatly. He painted realistic murals and watercolors of locations, people, and troops in the Pacific in the Philippines and New Guinea during the Second World War. One of his large murals was brought back from the Philippines and hangs in the National SeaBee Museum in California.
