This true first American printing is bound in black quarter cloth over orange pictorial cloth boards with a gilt-stamped flamingo on the front cover. The top edge of the pages have a green topstain and pages are rough cut.

Out of Africa is a memoir by Danish author Karen Blixen, detailing her life on a coffee plantation in Kenya from 1914 to 1931. The book provides a rich narrative of her experiences, relationships, and the complexities of colonial life during that era.

Sydney Pollack's movie based on the book secured 7 Academy Awards at the 58th Academy Awards ceremony in 1986.

We love this offering as it is an exceptionally clean first edition from 1938-a well-known novel and author. The movie of this book won academy awards as did 'Babette's Feast also by this author.
