Issued on September 29, 1920, this 1 Reichsmark airmail stamp from the Free City of Danzig features a lilac-red design with a bold "Danzig" overprint, signifying its adaptation for local postal use following the city's establishment under the Treaty of Versailles. Printed by Reichsdruckerei in Berlin using typographic printing, the stamp measures 22 x 26 mm and has a comb perforation of 14 x 14¼.
