RICHMOND IRWIN KELSEY (1905 - 1987) CALIFORNIA LANDSCAPE PAINTING - CATTLE HILLS Item Description: This original oil painting shows a lush California landscape in Spring with and cow and her calf grazing in the shade of an oak tree. Rolling hills in the distance are covered in early green grasses. It is oil on canvas. The canvas measures 16" x 20". With frame the painting measures 25" x 29". It is signed in the lower left and titled "Spring" on the back of the frame. This painting and the frame are in great vintage condition. Richmond Kelsey (1905-1987) Born: San Diego, CA; Studied: Otis Art Institute (Los Angeles), Art Center School (Los Angeles); Member: American Watercolor Society, California Water Color Society. Richmond Kelsey began painting and exhibiting watercolors while studying art in Los Angeles during the 1930s. After serving in World War II, he settled in Southern California and worked in the animated film business, producing watercolor backgrounds for Walt Disney Studios‚ and feature films and cartoons.
