Chambered in .45 caliber, it is equipped with a 6-inch barrel featuring a ribbed top and adjustable target sights. The firearm exhibits a high-polish factory blued finish on the frame and barrel, complemented by a case-hardened target hammer and target trigger. It is currently fitted with black rubber Hogue Monogrip textured finger-groove grips. Key markings include SMITH & WESSON on the left side of the barrel and 45 CAL. MODEL 1955 on the right side. The serial number N759813 and model designation MOD. 25-2 are stamped on the frame yoke. The right side of the frame displays the standard four-line manufacturer address: MADE IN U.S.A., MARCAS REGISTRADAS, SMITH & WESSON, SPRINGFIELD, MASS. This cased example includes its original wooden presentation case with a molded plastic insert, the original blue factory box, and the outer cardboard shipping carton with a factory label matching the serial number. The revolver is in very good overall condition, retaining a high percentage of its deep factory blued finish with only minor handling marks and a faint turn line on the cylinder. The case hardening on the hammer and trigger remains vivid and attractive. The bore is bright with sharp rifling, and the action appears to function correctly in both single and double action. The rubber Hogue grips are in excellent condition. The wooden presentation case shows light external wear, while the molded plastic insert is intact. The blue factory box and the outer shipping carton show typical shelf wear and aging consistent with their period.
