VINTAGE HOPI KACHINA - MORNING KACHINA - 16" TALL - SIGNED
This vintage Hopi kachina is identified on the bottom as the Morning Kachina. It stands 16" tall including the base. It is in good vintage condition except for two broken wooden feathers at the top of the head.
The Hopi Morning Singer (Talavai) Kachina is a revered spirit that appears in pairs on rooftops during dawn, singing songs and ringing bells to wake the village, often during the Bean Dance (Powamu) ceremony. Known as Talavai, they represent the dawn, offering blessings of joy, hope, and the arrival of the sun.
