Elegant French Louis XVI style two-drawer commode, crafted with exquisite parquetry veneer inlaid in a geometric chevron and diamond pattern. The case features a shaped serpentine front with rich mahogany and kingwood tones, accented throughout with finely cast gilt bronze ormolu mounts, trim, and ring pulls. The frieze is decorated with intricate pierced floral ormolu, while the rounded corners are adorned with acanthus-form mounts and inset brass fluting. The commode is topped with a molded rouge marble slab with variegated cream, rose, and ochre coloration. Raised on tapered and paneled legs ending in gilt bronze sabots. Drawers retain dovetail construction, indicative of quality craftsmanship.
