This is a beautifully sculpted piece of a lion and a serpent in a stand-off. The majestic male Lion, irritated by the hissing venomous threats of the snake, bends down, cowering over the coiling snake, letting him know his intimidating size. Drawing back deep into a chest he pushes out a terrible roar into the retreating snake's face. This bronze sculpture was molded using the ancient method of lost-wax casting and finished with a brown patina finish for preservation and mounted upon a marble base.
