A substantial MASSIVE Victorian Medieval Revival two-handed longsword, crafted in the Gothic taste during the second half of the 19th century and modeled after German and Central European longswords of the late 15th to early 16th century.

The sword features a broad, double-edged flexible steel blade measuring 43 1/2 inches, formed with a prominent central fuller extending most of its length before tapering gracefully to a spear point. The forged iron hilt is fitted with a straight crossguard terminating in faceted knop finials, while the elongated grip retains its original textured covering over a wooden core, allowing for comfortable two-handed use. The hilt is completed by a distinctive fluted mushroom-shaped pommel.

Victorian fascination with medieval arms and chivalry led to the production of impressive display weapons such as this example. Intended primarily for collections, armories, historical interiors, or ceremonial display, these swords faithfully capture the appearance of Renaissance originals while remaining desirable antiques in their own right.
