VINTAGE HOPI KACHINA - EAGLE KACHINA - RON DUWYENIE - 9" TALL
This vintage eagle kachina has been beautifully hand carved of cottonwood by Hopi artist Ron Duwyenie. It measures 9" tall including the base. It is has three broken feathers on the wings on each side. It is signed on the bottom.
Ron Duwyenie was a renowned Hopi master carver known for his intricate, traditional kachina dolls carved from a single piece of cottonwood root. He was based near Keams Canyon, Arizona, and worked largely within the Hopi tradition, developing a distinct style noted for its detailed, realistic features.
