A CHINESE GILT BRONZE BUDDHA FIGURE
This finely cast copper alloy Buddha is entirely gilded, seated in full lotus meditation atop a double-lotus pedestal moulded with neatly layered floral buds. The deity wears an ornate multi-tiered royal crown, large hoop earrings and delicate beaded neck ornaments. Its right hand is raised in the abhaya mudra of fearlessness, while the left rests upon the lap in dhyana mudra. Subtle pigment detailing accents the serene facial features. Measuring 11cm long, 8cm wide, 15cm high and weighing 630 grams, it represents refined Himalayan Buddhist bronze craftsmanship with soft, well-preserved gilded surfaces.
