Girls of Juarez was painted in honor of the multitude of women killed in Ciudad Juarez during the late 2000s. The painting includes collaged elements of paper and cloth to tell a story. The primarily gray background and black imagery adds to the mood of the imagery. The board, including three inch and unpainted framed sides, was custom built by a local carpenter in San Francisco.
