A Second World War Hawker Hurricane Cockpit Canopy , together with a signed letter of provenance 'This letter confirms that this Hawker Hurricane fighter canopy originated from one of several such aeroplanes which were scrapped at the RAF Fighter Command base at Rochford, near Southend in Essex. I was given this relic by an old family friend, Cliff Canning of Matching Green, Essex - as a keen gardener, he was given three of these canopies by a fellow gardener who had lived alongside Rochford Aerodrome during the Second World War. He found they made excellent cloches for protecting delicate vegetable plants from frost! Gordon Ramsey - After The Battle Publishing
