A Resht panel, Persian, circa 1860, the black central panel delicately worked in chain stitched in vivid purple and green edged arabesques, ferns and blooms, the scarlet border with embroidered and appliqued pansies and floral boteh repeats, plain wine outer band, 275 by 174cm; together with two small poor condition Resht panels, 108 by 72cm and 112 by 165cm (3)
Condition
• Black central panel cover: some discolouration in the outer pink areas on one end and also the plain wine outer border with fading along an old fold line, slight moth damage to outer nine coloured areas, central area is generally good and colours are good. • Medium sized red panel with central ogival: heavily stained, poor condition. • Small red panel with plain central field: peppered with moth holes of various sizes.
