A group of two commemorative 'War of Independence' Wedgwood plates in pale blue with white jasperware detailing comprising: central bas-relief motif of revolutionary soldiers and British infantrymen firing at each other on a wooden bridge, band of thirteen stars to the border and raised text 'American Independence 1778 Battle of Concord . 1976'; the second with bas-relief motif of Independence Hall surrounded by a band of thirteen stars and gold lettering 'American Independence Bicentennial 1776-1976' and radiating vignettes of the Boston Tea Party, Revere's Ride, Battle of Concord, Crossing the River Delaware, the Yorktown Victory and Signing of the Declaration (offered in original Wedgwood box with explanatory pamphlet"). 1.1 kg total, box: 25 cm (9 3/4").
