Lot 0057
Mouth diameter 9 in., H 11 in. This was an elegant Yuan Dynasty temple vase of the Jun Kiln. The trumpet shape mouth was the special feature of the temple vase. The so called 'walking worm smear' on the vase could be seen in the vase and was the major characteristic of the Jun Yao. The numeral 'two' was carved at the base before firing indicating that this was the second largest size for this temple vase. Only the genuine Jun Yao had the numeral carving before firing, otherwise the copy had the carving after firing.
