Lot 1104
George Nakashima dining table, by Knoll, birch, c. 1948, model N-12, rectangular top with a sculptural apron, tapered and flared legs, two 9" leaves, original finish, 54"w x 36"d x 28"h, with leaves: 72"w, stains to top, good original condition

Condition

Refinishing needed. Water stains to the top. One dark stain along the edge is inherent in the wood grain and is not a stain. One light area on the top has been sanded and is rough. Contact us if you would like a quote for refinishing. Scuffs and abrasions to legs, some color loss from contact with water. Sturdy and structurally sound. Leaves are in comparable condition with some difference in color. Documented in Knoll: A Modernist Universe, by Brian Lutz, pub. by Rizzoli, 2010, page 106.
