Rare 18KT enameled Gold Revolutionary War Society of Cincinnati Medal. Side of medal is engraved Olyphant, attributed to a descendant of Dr. David Olyphant (1720-1805) Director General of Hospitals in the South Region. Medal is The New York Eagle, made by Colby & Johnson 19th century. One side reads Omnia Reliquit Servare Rempublicam and shows three Senators presenting a sword to Cincinnatus, other side reads Societas Cincinnatorum Institua AD 1783. Medal weighs 14.3 DWT and is 1 1/2" long without clasp.
