TRANSVAAL MONEY BOX CAST IRON BANK

Lot 1001 Details

Description
''TRANSVAAL MONEY BOX'' FIGURAL CAST IRON STILL PENNY BANK: John Harper Ltd. England, Ca. 1885. 6''h, x 4 1/4''. Paint colors still showing, though there is some loss and rust. To answer questions...This bank has 5 holes in the base plate. There are clear remains of green paint on his hat and jacket, yellow trim and some flesh tones. There is rust. The pipe appears to be original. I can make out the words “By Permission” and Made in England on the back with two lines of unreadable words between. I do not see the word Gazette, looks like perhaps “Gazel**” though.
