Hand-Colored Engraved Map. Wit, Frederick de. Novissima et Accuratissima totius Americae Descripto." Amsterdam, [1666]. 19 1/4 x 22 5/8 inches; 489 x 575 mm, margins. Slightly toned, margins darkened, minor chipping at edges, bottom 2 1/2 inches of center fold separating. Old (orig.?) color, outline color, ships & cartouches partly colored. Framed.
Depicting California as an island, the Great Lakes as separate bodies of water, ships on the Atlantic & Pacific, wild animals on the New Continent, cartouches of Indians & angels.
