BAKEWELL WAFFLE AND SNAKE WATER PITCHER, colorless with frosted blocks, conical form with a rattlesnake handle that wraps completely around the body, raised on a circular foot molded with grass-like texture on top. Probably Bakewell, Pears & Co., Pittsburgh, PA. Circa 1880. 10 1/4" HOA, 4 7/8" D foot.

Catalogue Note: This pitcher is not recorded in any of the standard references. We recorded it for the first time in our 2002 auction. It is an absolutely amazing feat of mold work and only the second example known.
