1038. Steve McQueen “Henri ‘Papillon’ Charriere” prison pants from Papillon. (Columbia Pictures, 1973) Steve McQueen won a Golden Globe for “Best Motion Picture Actor, Drama” as the title character in the prison film “Papillon”. These are McQueen’s “Henri ‘Papillon’ Charriere” prison pants from the film. Consisting of custom-made long trousers constructed of knobby and fibrous gray wool with diagonal slash hip pockets, hidden button fly closure and one-button waist closure. Internal Western Costume Co. label typed, “2189-1 Steve McQueen” and Western Costume stamp are present on the waistband. McQueen wears these pants throughout the movie beginning with his incarceration and shipping off to Devil’s Island. In production-used, vintage fine condition.
