(United Artists 1982) In Rocky III, prizefighter “Rocky Balboa” (Sylvester Stallone) has maintained his championship Heavyweight title and seen his fame reach heights. In this, the third installment in the triumphant Rocky franchise, Balboa must face a hungry young fighter named “James ‘Clubber’ Lang” (Mr. T). These are the gloves used to fight “Lang” in the dramatic fight sequences. Consisting of red leather Tuf-Wear brand boxing gloves with brand labels sewn on back of wrists, lace-up fronts and white piping on cuff and thumb. Both gloves are signed boldly in black ink, the left-hand glove with, “Rocky Loves ya” and the right with, “To Nikol, love Sylvester Stallone 06”. Nikol Bird was the 8-year old girl who successfully lead a grass-roots campaign to keep the famous “Rocky” prop statue from Rocky III in Philadelphia after the movie wrapped. In appreciation for her efforts, Stallone offered the little girl anything she wanted from the set. Nikol chose the bloodied boxing gloves from the climactic fight scenes in the movie. In 2006 when the statue was moved back to the original Philadelphia museum grounds, Nikol and Stallone reunited for the unveiling and Stallone signed the right-hand glove. In vintage, production-used condition. Comes with a detailed LOA from Nikol Bird.
