1718. Fender “Stevie Ray Vaughan” stage-played telecaster electric guitar. (Fender, 1973) This incredibly rare guitar previously belonging to American singer-songwriter Tom Pacheco may be the only known example of a stage played Telecaster used by the legendary Stevie Ray Vaughan ever brought to auction. Beautiful forty-one year old Telecaster, single cutaway solid ash body with 1-piece bolt on medium profile maple neck, expertly re-fretted with 21 jumbo frets, Fender “F” tuners, Fender black and gold trim logo and “Telecaster” decals on headstock with two patent numbers “2,573,254” and “3,143,028” located beneath logo. The neck is stamped on the end in red “1303 4153” (Friday, October 5th, 1973) and is attached with a 4-bolt neck plate with large Fender “F” logo and serial number “411815” stamped in. One metal covered neck and one black staggered-pole piece pickup mounted in bridge-plate, two controls (one volume, one tone) plus three-way selector switch with original combined bridge/tailpiece and chrome “ashtray” bridge cover. Signs of playing wear on the lower bass edge of the body and a lesser amount on the lower treble edge including a few surface marks. The face of the body has been decorated with stickers including a large red heart, a smaller red & white heart, two smaller silver glitter hearts, a black, lilac with silver moon & stars and eight various size glitter stars. A direct quote from Tom Pacheco’s LOA states: “I have owned this guitar since the late 1970’s. I have played this instrument all over the world. When I lived in Austin, Texas, Stevie Ray Vaughan would borrow the guitar and use it on stage at Hut’s and at the Continental Club in Austin on South Congress Avenue, at my gigs while sitting in for a song or two. As far as the stickers go, there were a couple of stickers on the guitar I had placed on it. One night in a moment of serendipity Stevie decided to place a bunch of other stickers onto the guitar. It was just one of those funny and crazy moments. I just left them on there.” this amazing guitar comes, housed in its original Fender hardshell case. Includes a signed typewritten LOA attesting that this axe was stage played by the legendary Stevie Ray Vaughan. Special shipping arrangements will apply.
