c. 1893, considered by many the finest toy ever produced, this example is quite distinguished in pedigree hailing from the Hegarty and Perelman Collections, and it is further enhanced in appeal by being the only known example with an original seated figure: together with incredible mold effects, stunning articulated horse and Museum quality condition. This is the example that could serve as the icon for great American Toys, many advanced collectors over the years have remarked it is without questions the pinnacle of toy artistry, the late great collector Donal Markey had always slated it was his favorite toy. it is simply a majestic toy with detailing to casting, molding, stenciling, action and scale that truly has no match. Max affectionately named his special toy "Rosebud," and special it is. 19 1/2" l.
