1. Van Beuren Studios original animation manual and model sheets. (Van Beuren Films, ca. 1934-1940). A comprehensive “how-to” manual on animation relating to the Van Beuren Corporation Animation Studio, including: (1) original bound manuscript being an instructional album of original drawings, prints, proof, animation cel and cartoon sketches produced at Van Beuren, Hollywood, California, ca. 1934-1936, 18-pages 11 x 14 in. tape-backed pictorial boards decorated with a watercolor of a king; (23) animator’s model sheets of Fontaine Fox’s The Toonerville Trolley, Pat Sullivan’s Felix the Cat and other characters, some colored and some duplicates; (2) animation drawings of a “Centaur” and the “Skipper” of the Toonerville Trolly; (1) 5-page mimeographed glossary of animated terms. The album further contains a flip-transformation of a monkey with a dagger as an added example to the exercise – by flipping the bottom right corner of the album.
