Description

清－銅鎏金龍尊地藏王菩薩
地藏菩薩(梵语：Ksitigarbha)，因其“安忍不動，猶如大地，靜慮深密，猶如秘藏”，所以得名。造像高大，站立在覆式蓮花座。地藏菩薩頭戴寶冠，束高髻，臉型豐滿圓潤，雙目低垂，面相寂靜。身著寬袍，胸飾瓔珞，腹部結帶，神龍盤纏其中，張牙睜目，威武缽常。右手特斧，左手托明珠，寶珠又稱摩尼寶、如意寶。球形，頂有火焰。指能如自己意願，而變現出種種珍寶之寶珠。此寶珠尚有除病、去苦等功德。一般用以譬喻法與佛德，及表征經典之功德。據佛典記載，地藏菩薩是受佛陀之托在佛涅盤后，彌勒成佛前教化眾生，地藏信仰在漢地和日本非常盛行，但是在西藏不及觀音、文殊等菩薩，造像數量較少，因此藏傳佛教造像中地藏造像尤為珍貴。

Single-cast, tall figure standing on a round double lotus base, his face with a benign expression with downcast eyes with gentle smile, flanked by long pierced lobes, the hair arranged in tight curls and rising to a domed ushnisha framed by pendulous ears. Draped with long flowing robes finely incised with floral borders. Holding a pearl on the left and an axe on the right, with a writhing dragon coiled around his robes and hovering above his head with extended hands. Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva’s mission is to help and deliver those in suffering without judgment.
