Since the 1990s many Chinese artists in their works have been referring to portraits of Mao Zedong (1893-1976), the former President of the Republic, as well as to socialist icons from the Mao era. As well Ren Si Hong's recent works show reference to this canon of images. In this context, Ren Si Hong’s multiples titled ‘Broadcast Exercise’ feature a group of young people doing ‘Broadcast exercises’, typical of the Mao era. These gym exercises that were performed by the transmission of radio programs during work since 1951, gained again popularity in recent years, including non-governmental businesses.
Both figures are in good condition, showing scattered minor scratches. The height is circa 57 respectively 59 cm.
