Rare Michael Jackson Original This Is It World Premiere Documentary Metal VIP Tickets - Michael Jackson was in the last phases of rehearsing his ground-breaking "This Is It" world concert tour when he suddenly died on June 25, 2009. Lucky for his fans, an enormous amount of footage was made of his intense rehearsal at the Staples Center in Los Angeles (ironically also the location for his massive memorial service). The footage, which included the auditions of dancers, and complete records of most of his astonishing musical numbers, allowed legendary stage director, and Jackson friend and creative partner Kenny Ortega to put together an 111 minute documentary-concert film. It became the event of a lifetime, and sold out venues across the world, becoming the highest grossing concert film of all time. On Tuesday, October 27th, 2009, the much anticipated World Premiere took place at the Nokia Theater in Hollywood (the Theater where the Academy Awards take place). Tickets for this premiere became the most sought after in the history of Hollywood. The treasured and priceless tickets, as with everything else connected to this movie, were something special. They were made of special aircraft machine gun-metal, with MICHAEL JACKSON'S THIS IS IT, engraved and red-paint stamped on one side with ticket information on the other side. The ticket was the VIP full-access, allowing admittance to the pre-Red Carpet event, the actual screening in the theater and the after party. These are two of these extremely rare original tickets. They were originally encased in a special envelope with the "This Is it" Jackson image sticker sealing it. This set includes one original ticket, and a second ticket, which is quite rare, since it is still sealed in the original Jackson sticker envelope. Each metal ticket is 7"x7".
