Magnificent ca. 1900-1914 Bohemian hand blown cased glass, two piece epergne, finished in a beautiful hand painted floral, plus the signature prominent 3-dimensional Royal & beaded spiraling snake, which was the province of the venerable Graf Harrach Glass House. Our example is a compact 6.5 x 6.5 x 10.5 inches tall, and the fine V crimping matches on the bowl and the trumpet. Only two the the great Bohemian houses were noted for deep roundel applied glass, and those were Harrach & to some extent Wilhelm Kralik. However (in deference to the Glass School at Novy Bor), 98%+ of all snakes, lizards, and dragons, were the unique work of Graf Harrach. Our ground base carries part of the traditional Harrach batch / form number, which differentiates from many of the other antique Bohemians. These creatures were first noted in the 1890's, as part of the true Art Nouveau era, and a number of identified Harrach enhanced comparables to our excellent epergne, can be found on display at the Glass Museum Passau.6.25x6.25x10.5 tall PROVENANCE: Charleston SC Private Collection.
