Lot 0378 Details

Description
This is a vintage 1970s/1980s postcard of Josephine Baker. Original photo c1920s, Paris, by James Abbe. Printed in the USA. SIZE: Approx. 4 1/4" x 6". James Abbe (July 17, 1883 - November 11, 1973) was born in Alfred, Maine. He traveled throughout Europe as a young photojournalist recording the unstable power struggles of the early 20th century. However, he first made a name for himself photographing movie stars in New York, Paris, and London throughout the 1920s and 1930s. His unusual technique of working outside the studio set him apart from other photographers of the period. **MORE postcards from 1950s to 1990s (risque, nude, art sci-fi, oddities) in this and future auctions. From the estate of a big collector who traveled the world and had some very scare paper items. Many postcards from small independent underground printers in Germany, Holland, France, UK, etc. ****** We provide in-house shipping. Low shipping costs! Combine items to save even more!
