[Kennedy, Jacqueline] 2 Items. ++ Original pen and watercolor poster sketch by Jacqueline Kennedy of J. B. West. Beginning of text is in watercolor in red, black, and blue: “Wanted/ 1040 5th Avenue/ Chief Usher/ Must:” This is followed by an ink list of duties: “Waltz/ Bulldoze/ Winetaste/ Move Furniture…” (nd). The other manuscript poster Jacqueline Kennedy drew for West is dated Mar. 7, 1969. Sheet 20 1/4” x 17”. Horizontal storage crease. Small stain in margin, few tiny blemishes elsewhere. Tape bit in lower margin below the phrase “Install Missile.” Faint tape mark in upper margin, few small tears mostly to upper margin. ++ ALS by Jacqueline Kennedy, given to him with the poster referring to her children Caroline Kennedy and John-John. Full text: “April 30, 1971/ Dear Mr. West- Your letter made us so happy – or rather you made us so happy for that incredible evening you gave to Caroline & John & Me – You can't imagine what it meant to them – how often they ask about things you said- You must know what it meant to me/ Come back soon/ love J.” Letterhead with Fifth Avenue address. 8vo. Letter near fine. Provenance: From the Estate of James Bernard (J.B.) West, Chief White House Usher, 1957-1969.
