Item Details

Description

Chinese, 20th century. A matched pair of heavy octagonal porcelain fishbowl jardinieres or planters decorated with cobalt blue underglaze hand painted decoration depicting ducks swimming near water grasses and lotus plants, the foot with a band of crossing bamboo branches, the shoulder with a band of meandering key, and the everted rim decorated to flat top with band of diaper patterning punctuated by ovular medallions bearing further bamboo and grasses. Unmarked. Approximate height 16.125", diameter 17.25".
